Divine Intervention or did I just put my foot in my mouth???

A couple of weeks ago our cute Bishop came to our house and extended a call for me to serve as 2nd counselor in the YW. I was thrilled, scared, and sad because my sweet Camille would no longer there. Many of you know that I love to tease. So, this Sunday was no exception. As our Bishop was leaving he asked Coby how he was enjoying his calling as Sunday School Teacher to the 16 -18 year olds. He said he really liked it and THEN...I just HAD to chime in and say...."Yes, he does LOVE it, however, he told me that his dream calling would be that of Elder's Quorum President." Then I smiled and the Bishop gave this cute, yet awkard little chuckle. Coby looked at me like...."you better PRAY to the God of Pregnant Wives that his little "chuckle" doesn't come to fruition." Honestly, what are the chances???

The next Sunday as we sustained all the new callings, Coby pointed out to me that they had just released the Elder's Quorum Pres and gave me the "Look". Now, I'm sure all of you have seen the "look" at various times in your lives. At any rate after Sacrament they set me apart and then our darling Stake President looks at Coby and says, "Do you think you have time to meet with with me for a few minutes right now?" Again....the "LOOK" was directed my way!!! I couldn't help but laugh....because let's be honest...what are the chances????

I know I actually didn't have anything to do with this calling being extended to Coby but he seems hellbent on letting me know that I will be helping him with this calling. He has to meet with at least 72 members of the quorum every quarter and has said that I better get a wiggle on because not only will be also be making TREATS for every one of them, but I'll also get to tag along too!

So, moral of the story is... Be careful what you say to your Bishop....because you never know what the next Sunday will bring! :)

I know the entire story, but I read the entire thing because you just crack me up! I love it. You're going to have your hands full with your calling...so tell Coby he can handle his! :) You guys will both be great!

That was funny. In a few years when you guys are released and can look back it will probably be even funnier:)!

If only you guys weren't so darn inspiring you could have the coveted calling as 'greeter and hymn book passer outers'.

You know, everytime I give a talk in sacrament I get called to serve with the youth...I don't know what I say each time but it's amazing! One time I talked about how I was lost in the wilderness and ended up hanging by a rope on a clif for 45 minutes in the blazing sun and do you know what they called me to do? - Lead the 4th year hike....odd don't you think?!

Jeremy is in the EQ pres here too and it is very busy. I teach the 16-18 class, and I'd rather have that calling anyday! That really was a great story! Good reminder to be careful what you joke about! Haha.

you are the best wife ever!!!! However if he wants out just tell him to email the Bisop about how much he loves his calling. It worked for me I just got released from prim pres. (granted it had been 2 1/2 years)

Hey there! You don't know me, but I have been deeply touched by your blog. You have such a beautiful family! My husband is an EQ President too, and all I can say is... I am so sorry! Just kidding! It is a very time consuming calling, but very rewarding.:)

Hey Tiff! I can't believe that you and Coby are in the exact same situation that Clay & I were in. Don't people have compassion on young families, especially with pregnant moms? But the Lord knows who He needs in callings to bless peoples' lives. I am honestly so excited to know that our Beehives are in your hands!

You just make me laugh!!
You better watch out... I can just see it now: you becoming the RS president and Coby - bishop.
I'd put money on that one :-)
Got your message and YES I'd love to play on Friday.
