We went down to St. George this last week for a couple of days to check out Mootsies new crib and have a little family time. Man, that is the place to be for the winter. It was 60 degrees and there where Christmas lights everywhere. Corbin especially loved the Jacuzzi bath and the massive steam shower. He had like three baths a day. That is when we could pry him away from the putting green in the back yard.

First big snow
Well, the first big snow storm of the year hit us this week and wouldn't you know it, Corbin wanted to play in it. All we have been hearing all day is: "out". So, we got him some snow pants, gloves and boots and he was in his element. We went over to Great Grandma Mootz's house and went sledding. That boy loves going fast down snow covered hills. We are just grooming him for ski lessons next year.

So sad to go
We'll we picked up and moved last week to Utah. It was a hard transition and it still is. We miss our friends and our house, but mostly that balmy Michigan weather. Luckily we have a good support system here and in Michigan to get us through. We will be living with my folks for a couple of months so you there is an open invitation to come and crash here. We'll here are a couple of pics from our farewell party that our good friends Madre and Ee-en threw for us.

Tiger's Game
Me and Cob....my hot lover!
Me and my Kimmy!
We had the GREATEST time at the Tiger's Game last Friday night. I've been to a couple Tiger's games before but don't remember ever having much fun. It was seriously a BLAST! Kim, Craig and their adorable little Adalyn are the newest addition to the Lansing Gang. I totally have a the biggest Crush!

Campin' with the Homies
So, we went camping this weekend up at camp Northwoods... you know, the BSA. Lance, Ian, Jasmine and I went up earlier on friday to get things set up. But we didn't nearly have enough time to be the pyros that we wanted to, I mean, prepare the dinner that we wanted to. So naturally we had dinner by campfire at a litte after ten. But, it was worth the wait.
Jasmine and Corbin were absolutely in their element. Jasmine had so much fun swimming and chasing after field mice. Corbin confirmed the fact that he is all-boy and was always playing in the dirt or exploring the many subtle flavors of acorns and sticks.
I don't know what it is about being around a big fire, but it just makes me want to put on my dancing shoes. Apparently it makes Ian want some Captain Morgan.

Back in Scouts
Last Saturday we had the opportunity to help the local scouts out with a service project. This project was to install 8,000 seat backs at Spartan Stadium for the upcoming football season. We started at 7:00am in the rain. By 10:00 we were nearly done, but mostly drenched. While Corbin was playing with Mommy Natalie and I decided to do the tour de Stad and run the stairs of the staduim. Needless to say, by the end I couldn't pick up my legs.

Cali
We just got home from a whirlwind trip to California where we met up with my family. We stayed at the beautiful Newport Beach Coastal Villas where we enjoyed the smog. Luckily we traveled a lot to various amusement parks and such where the weather was much better. The most fun adventure we had was going up to Magic Mountian where we endulged on roller coasters all day. Corbin was a trooper and he had a great time with Mama Jo on the kiddie rides. Unfortunately many of us got a case of the Montazuma's the next day and Bob, Tiff and Mama Jo were out for the count. Luckily it didn't last too long and the rest of us enjoyed our final days in Cali.

Sick Fam
Well, it's been a rough couple of weeks. First Tiff got sick, then she gave it to Corbin and then he gave it to me. Luckily we are mostly better now. During this time though Corbin has become the worlds fastest crawler. Seriously, you put this kid down for two seconds and he is racing towards the dog food. Now he has figured out how to pull himself up on things and he thinks he can walk, but mostly he just falls. We had no idea he could pull himself up until going into his room after a nap and there he was leaning over the rail of his crib. Needless to say we lowered it that day. I've been keeping really busy looking for a job and being Mr. Mom. Luckily, my friends at Cooley are on break right now so they come over and play a lot. Although Lance just likes to go outside and try and sunbathe his disturbingly white legs. Now that's just not right.

Snowboarding on Michigans "Mountains"
I had the opportunity to go up north yesterday to go snowboarding at one of the premier bumps in the Midwest. Wayne, Jason and I drove three hours north to Schuss Mountain and boarded almost the whole day. The runs were so short that we could get from the top to the bottom in less than 20 seconds. However, we did have a good time. They had a pretty good terrain park where we spent most of the day jumping and falling. Wayne also had a good time trying to knock down trees. Unfortunately he lost the battle 100% of the time. But here are a couple of good pics to enjoy.

January Blah's
Well it's overcast in Michigan again, big suprise! Sitting inside on such a crappy day looking at the frozen pool makes me long for the days of summer. The pup is getting a little stir crazy being inside all day long. We can't even say the word walk without a drastic consequence. So, we have to spell it, and even then she knows what we are talking about. I'm sure the pup would be much happier at the lake playing.

Tri "ing" to get there
Well, we've decided to get in shape this year and the major motivating factor is the upcoming St. George Triathlon. Tiff is going to attempt it for her first time and this will be my third. So instead of the usual reasons to get in shape (feel better about ourselves, look good in a swimsuit) our mantra this year is "don't die during the tri." I posted this picture up to remind me what happens when I let go of myself (see Ben) and also not to wear spandex (see Pat). The tri is May 13, so anyone who wants to see us crawling to the finish line meet us in St. George. Peace out!

The First Blog
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Rich Family Blog. We thought that this would be a fun way to keep everyone posted on what the latest and greatest is. We just took Corbin to get his 6 month checkup and shots and he is doing great, but the doctor said we need to limit his Caffeine intake, so he's down to two cans a day. But, as you can see we caught him sneaking one the other day. This kid can get into anything and he can't even crawl. We're so proud, and just a touch worried.
