A Valentine's treat
It was so fun to spend time with Coby and go out on such a romantic date. He's so incredibly amazing that I still sometimes dream that he was just a "dream" and too good to be true. I've often told people that he had everything on my "wish" list for the man I married...but he has so many more awesome attributes that I don't think I could even come close to naming them all. I love you babe! I love that we are best friends and you stand by my side through everything. We've been through a few rough months, but have grown closer that I ever could have imagined. I am so grateful that we are an eternal family! You are still my "monster" and love you more than words could ever describe!

What are little boys made of...?
So, I couldn't be more thrilled about having another little boy join our family....until I realized that they are going to one day grow up and be like this.....
That's right folks...you ARE seeing my husband exploding from the mouth and NOSE for that matter all over my back splash! Fun times...fun times!!!
So, I'm thinking it may be in my best interest to start praying for little girls now....that or get a tichy more home owners insurance for the future.

Hi, it's Coby.
So the purpose of this post is two-fold. First, I really haven't posted since I handed the blog reigns over to Tiff last year, so I figured I've been a slacker long enough. Second, I am in the middle of testing a new product from my company and I needed to see if it worked inside of blogger. So if you see video in this post then I was successful. If you don't see video then I will never publish this post and therefore you'll never read it, so typing and reading that last sentence was a was a waste of everyone's time. Anyway I just wanted to throw up a few pics and vids of our recent jaunt down to St. George. So, enjoy!
The First full day down there we all went the the Sand Hollow pool and spent hours getting pruney.
Saturday the girls spend the morning out shopping while the boys watched the kids. This was a particularly useful tactic because soon we would be out golfing in the sun.

Wade was particularly fond of the "hand wedge' when playing from the red rock.
Later that evening in the attempt to remain young at heart we (the boys) decided that it would be a good idea to go jump in the 40 degree swimming pool. I would later find out that our girlish screams were the highlight of all who were watching from the warmth of the house.
Anyway, it was a fun little getaway from the inversion of the valley. I know I'm no Tiff when it comes to writing, but thanks for reading. By the way how great does that video look? Go us!
P.S. Don't worry. I'll put the sidebar back on soon.

Drum Roll Please....

Coby and I are so excited to announce that we are having....
ANOTHER baby boy! I have had so much fun with Corbin and Jack (for the most part) that I truly longed for another little "blue" baby as Corbin calls him. (Blue for boy) Coby and I KNOW that we do have a little girl up there and have been shocked ALL 3 times that our "apple" has a stem! :) I used to have a theory that the Lord would just keep giving us boys until he wanted our family to be complete and then finally give us our little girl. SO in theory we could have like 6 boys and then when we'd given up....OOOPS a little "pink" baby would grace us with her presence. Don't get me wrong I'm NOT complaining. I love little boys. I mean, honestly have you EVER seen Corbin's hair fixed or JACK's for that matter? The answer is a big fat giant NO!! I mean can you imagine if we had a girl....it would be scary to say the least! :)
On a more serious note I feel so blessed to be pregant with this perfect little boy right now. I miss Jack every second of the day. But I try my hardest to try and find the good every single day because I know that that is what Jack would want. I read this quote today in a book called "Life Everlasting" by Duane Cowther. He tells of an experience where this woman had been in a near fatal accident. It was truly a miracle that she survived. As she was saying her prayers and giving thanks she said that she heard a voice that said, "It doesn't matter the trials you are faced with. It's how you choose to accept them. THAT's the real test." It's hard every single day, but in the end, I want the Lord to say..."Good job Tif and Cob, you not only passed the test, but you you did a good job." I want to live in such a way that I'll get to be with my husband and ALL my children without question. That's why I feel so blessed despite our current circumstances. We have everything we need in order to be with Jack again. We are an eternal family. I love Coby and my boys....ALL 3 of them.
I feel so blessed to have the knowledge of the gospel to be surrounded by the most amazing family and friends imaginable. So many of you continue to keep us in your prayers and we want you to know that we feel strengthened every single day because of you. So thank you! Look for the good in every situation and you will find it. I know it helps me.

Happy Birthday Camille
I just wanted to wish my sweet Camille a very happy birthday today. She is so dear to my heart. She is very selfless and always so giving of her time and energy. She has so many talents...and I am so happy that I get to sometimes be on the receiving end of some of them. :) She is a doer and makes me want to try to be a better person. She is one of the most amazing people I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I am grateful every single day that she is in my life! I don't know what I'd do without her. I Just LOVE you girl! :) Hope you have a GREAT birthday!

Washington DC
Just a little squeeze in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
Washington Monument
Going to all the Jefferson Memorial was really cool. It was so amazing to me that our country was so blessed and most choice because it was reared by god fearing men. It makes me sad to see that so much has changed since those times long ago. Our country is so obsessed with making sure that EVERYTHING is! so politically correct in an attempt to not "offend" someone. I am grateful for the many advancements made by our country...but I wish our morals and values once held sacred by so many didn't have to suffer. Just another sign of the times I guess.
I tried convincing Coby that I needed this...and got an astounding...absolutely NOT! The NERVE!!!!
About 6 weeks ago...(I know I'm a little behind) Coby took me on a trip to Washington DC. It was sooo awesome. He was there on business. Washington DC is truly amazing. It's almost overwheming at the amount of history that is there. I wished that we could have spend as much time as we wanted exploring all of the MANY museums there. We went to the Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art. I wished I would have taken a picture of this, but there was this really disturbing painting of this man about to be eaten by a shark. Creepy! Then we went to the Musem of Natural History, American Heritage Museum, the Holocaust Museum. The Holocaust was truly awesome. Somewhat of a downer but very very well done. It was so organized. Oh, how I wished I could have stayed longer. Best of all, everything was FREE!!!! I love to spend a week or so there and really take in all the sights. It was amazing. Thanks baby!

Jack's very own Christmas Tree
This year Joanne suggested that we should decorate a little Christmas Tree just for Jackie. We invited our families from both sides to help. Everyone brought an ornament to hang on the tree. I turned out so beautiful.
After we were finished decorating we sang "Silent Night". I lost it especially when we sang the part about "Holy Infant so tender and mild...sleep in heavenly peace...sleep in heavenly peace." I miss him...so much. Not a second goes by when I'm not thinking about him and missing him. I know he fulfilled his mission here on Earth but it just doesn't make it hurt any less. I am so grateful though that I had the chance to know him and love him and be his mom. I know he watched over our family and I feel him close all the time. I try to be positive about our situation because it feels better than the alternative...but I still have breakdowns. Sometimes they aren't too bad...and other times they are gut renchingly painful. I had such a night a few weeks ago. I was so distraught, it was almost like I was back at the beginning. I couldn't even speak without gasping for air. That night I tried with all my might to try and see Jack in my mind by my faith. It didn't end up happening, but I was able to feel him so close almost like he was touching the back of my neck with his hand. He was there, I know it. I just wish I could see him. I know that that would probably just make it harder...but I just miss him so much. The next morning I think he came again to say good morning. And tell him that he was still there. Jack had these little kissing monkeys in his room (they are still there). You pull them apart and they say..."Kiss me!". We that next morning I went to the gym early and when I got back noticed that Corbin had crawled in bed with Coby, so I crawled back into Corbin's bed. I was all alone and heard those monkey's go off...."Kiss Me!". Then it happened again..and again. Those monkey's went off 6 different times before I jumped up and ran into Jack's room. When I got there they went off again. I scanned the room hoping that my prayer would be answered and I'd get to see my baby. I said, "Jack...I know you're here....make the monkey's go off again if you're really here...." So OF COURSE they didn't go off. Typical Jack....Never wanting to perform just because I asked him to! :) That little stinker!!
Coby was there that horrible night and helped me through it. He's such a trooper and doesn't get the credit he deserves. He's so strong for our family and without him I don't know what I'd do...probably not get out of bed. He's my rock and I love him more than anything. It's because of him that I had Jack in the first place. And it's because of him Jack is sealed to us forever and because of that I'll get to see Jack again. What a blessing!

It's official....
SO, if you're looking for a certified official potty trainer...drop your kids off at Joanne's. Don't tell her where you got her name from...but tell her she came HIGHLY recommended! :)
***NOTE*** I may be in the dog house! :)
Christmas Fondue
Here is a picture of some of our best friends we made while living in MI. Mandy made this great spread of cheese and fancy chocolate fondue! We had a little trouble with the fondue cooperating...but all in all it turned out to be a GREAT night! Then we a white elephant party. I'm pretty sure that Mandy got the best present and most creative white elephant out there...it was a "shave your legs Barbie" I wished I would have taken a picture!!! It was so gross. Barbie had hairy legs and armpits and came with a disposable razor. Gross....but hilarious! Then Lance and Bettie gave us all these totally awesome shirts that say..."I love Rupert"...in leiu of Lance winning Prosecuting Attorney of Rupert County, ID. I love them! I wear mine all the time.
We had so much fun! We love you guys and are so grateful that we have managed to stay in touch and stay close. We are so looking forward to many many more adventures with you all! LOVES!!!

Festival of Trees
Here's what the final tree looked like. Coby and I couldn't have been happier! It was beautiful!
This year Coby's mom put together and organized a tree for Jackie to be displayed at the Festival of Trees. Until this year, I really had no idea what the "festival of trees" was. I actually thought it was a bunch of lit up trees at Thankgiving Point. We decided on a theme..."Through the eyes of love." And went with the colors of bronzes to silvers with accents of this gorgeous teal color to go with Jackie's eyes. We wanted to put things on the tree that represented things loved by our Jackie. He LOVED and I MEAN LOVED playing with balls of sorts. We thought about putting little plungers on it, but they were too hard to come by...and honestly...who really wants to boast about their child having a love for playing in a germ invested toilet??!! Joanne and the queen of crafts and cooking really, cute Amber Sargent found wooden basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls and all the Rich, Patterson and Burton (my side) along with my cute Camille came and helped paint the balls, reindeer, snowflakes, hearts and bronze stars. My aunt Linda sent some beautiful garland with Jack's name and 3 teal snowflakes. Our cute neighbor Aprill gave us two stunning ornaments to be placed on the tree. My sweet friend Amy all the way in WA helped out too. A few of the cute girls in our ward gave us a cash donation to help in the ornaments for the tree. Then Coby's family kindly purchased the tree for Coby and I to keep.
While we were there, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with the amount of love I felt at the Festival of Trees. I watched people as they looked at our tree and read Jack's story and saw how their hearts would just break as they looked at his big blue eyes and beautiful little angelic face. I heard one lady say..."Oh, that little guy was a cutie...oh, it's just so sad...." I lost it and had to walk away because I thought...he was a little cutie...a little cutie who should still be here. I know deep down that he really shouldn't though. Then of course I go on to look at all of the other "children's" trees and read their stories. I came across one that especially broke my heart. A little girl died on her 7 month birthday....but that wasn't the saddest part...hard as that may sound. The saddest part was that they said that her big sister who died in 2005 came to bring her home. This family has had to endure losing 2 children. 2 children!!! That thought baffles my mind. I know that it happens and it's not fair, but in lieu of that it makes me really grateful for what I DO have. I have so much to be grateful for. I have such an amazing family. My sweet husband and Corbin are my whole world and without them I would be lost. They are the reason I get up everyday...that and the knowledge of the plan of salvation and that every single day is one day closer to being with my little Jackie. But I am so grateful. The Lord has truly blessed me. I see His hand in my life daily.
I am still in awe at the amount of love that we continually feel from all of you. You have helped to ease this awful burden we carry every day. You have lifted our spirits and done so much for us that you will never know just how much you all mean to us. We love you and hope that you will know that we have noticed every single, selfless thing that you all have done to help our family. My mom still comes over almost every day, people still drop in just let us know that they are still thinking of us and keeping us in their prayers. My mom, Joanne, Sommer, Whitney, Camille, Tiana, Lanae, Mandie, Jen, Caralee, (the list can go on and on....) won't leave me alone! :) They call and call and call...so I'm sure they think I'm screening their calls! Not that I would ever want to. Bare with me...I'm trying harder. I love that you call me and drop in. It means the world to me! Thank you for being so Christlike, especially at this time of the year. Looking at the tree reminds me of Jack and it reminds me of all the love we feel so fully from every single one of you. I'd love to start name dropping (more than I already have) and could go on and on about each one of you and the things each of you have done to help in this process. You'll never know just how much it has touched our hearts and helped us feel the true light of Christ..."Through the eyes of love." I don't think there could be a more fitting name for the tree.

Disneyland
I know this is a little late....Sorry!!! But hey, better late than never!!!
Coby's phenomenal co-workers helped talk Cobe into continuing with our trip to Disneyland this year. Originally we had planned it with both our boys. Jack and Corbin had already been twice this year. We even celebrated Jack's 1st birthday there. So, we were having a hard time wanted to go. Randon (coby's hilarious) friend and co-worker suggested that we incorporate Jack in this trip. He suggested that we purchase a brick to be placed in between Disneyland and California Adventure in memory of our Jackie. He took care of everything. He got the brick ordered, got Corbin an awesome Buzz Lightyear toy, got VIP passes to all the parades and even Fantasmic and then got everyone in the office to throw in a little spending money for the trip. When Coby told me...I couldn't believe what an awesome group of people he gets to work with. Thanks Randon for taking care of this! You're the best!
Joanne...aka Honey had been wanting a turkey leg...so eventually we got one. Corbin, however thought he should be the one holding it and eating it mostly. He was truly a little carnivor and didn't want to share. Sorry guys!
A little kiss for Poppy...isn't that sweet! He sure does love his Poppy! And I think I can safely say the feeling is quite mutal for Poppy too! :)
This was a shot just before Fantasmic started. What an awesome show! If you ever get the chance to watch it...it's amazing. There are fireworks and fire and even a lazer show on water...so cool! I loved it!!!
Eyore thanked us for "noticin'"
And had to go back for more!!
While we were in this fun waterpark I saw a little toe head boy that looked about Jack's age. He was totally having a BALL splashing in the water and getting soaked from head to toe! I made sure that no one was looking and walked up to him and kind of pulled him into my leg to see if he was about Jack's height. He totally was. I walked away, but couldn't take my eyes off of him for a second. Then I realized that this little boy's mom was standing next to us. So I inquired about her little boy. I told her that he was so cute and asked his age. She told me that he just turned 18 months...Jack would have been 18 months too that month. I told her that my Jack was 18 months too and she said..."What did you say his name was?" I told her Jack and she kind of chuckled and said..."Oh, that's my little guy's name too." WHAT ARE THE CHANCES!!!???? I didn't tell her that Jack had passed because I didn't want to break down and make her feel weird, plus she'd probably leave and I couldn't watch her son play anymore. We talked briefly for a few more minutes and then she took of her Jack's shirt because it was really wet. It was about then that I lost it. He was so chubby, with this really blond hair and from the face down looked identical to my Jackie. I had to walk away because it was too hard now to watch him. I had a little breakdown away from everyone. And thought to myself...she's so lucky that she gets to take her Jack home. I just missed him so much. I am glad that was the 0nly time I actually lost it. I am glad that Coby was there. Maybe this was a tender mercy...maybe Jack was trying to say hi in some form. At any rate...it was hard. I know he was there but I wished I could see him. But then again that might even be harder because then I'd want to hold him and kiss him and I don't think I could let him go. Has anyone heard the forcast on the Millenium?? I hope it comes today!
A little leap frog for the Rich boys!
This was a great trip. It was fun to be with Ben and Whitney and Jim and Joanne. Sammi and Corbin had a ball as usual. They are such good buddies and I'm so glad we live close enough that they are able to become such good friends. My parents couldn't make it this year, but we'll plan another trip soon and hopefully Amber will be living here and we can make it a family tradition! :)
A big thanks to everyone who made this trip possible! We had so much fun!
